Mindful Breathing

Go to a quiet place, close your eyes and focus on your breathing. You are going to breathe in through your nose and out through you mouth while counting. As you breathe in your are going to count to 5, hold the breath for a count of 3, exhale and count to 7. Inhale for 1,2,3,4,5 Hold for 1,2,3 Exhale for 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 Do this at least 3 times and feel how your body and mind calm. Your mind will not be able to focus on more than one thing at a time. By counting while you breathe, you will shift your focus from thinking and feeling the effects of the stressful event to activating the part of the brain that induces relaxation.
